Nakayama ningyoo 中山人形 Dolls from Nakayama

They are made in town of Yokote, in the suburb of Hiraka machi.
平鹿町上吉田間内字中山

The first craftsman to make them, Noda Ukichi 野田卯吉 / 宇吉, was a potter from Kyushu (Nabeshima), who had been invited to Morioka. During the great famine of Tenpo (1837 天保の大飢饉) he wandered on to the Tsugaru peninsula and then to Akita, where he started to work as a potter again.
The family tradition was kept alive by the wife of his adopted son Kintaro, Yoshi ヨシ, who began to use softer earth to make dolls and then the Anesama dolls on sticks.
The Hiwatashi family carries on :
樋渡義一 (third generation), 樋渡昭太 (fourth generation), 樋渡徹 (fifth generation)

The dolls are also called
